Love you forever

As you will recall if you followed my Christmas Saga and entries previous to that, my grandpa (mom's dad) has been sick for quite awhile. It was really hard on him to lose his independence since he was always such a strong, stubborn, vital man. He finally had to go into a nursing home for rehab purposes in December. He was about to be released in ( Read more... )

It is definitely a blessing to be able to go in peace surrounded by family and love. What a wonderful gift you all gave your grandfather in his last moments.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

*hugs*

Oh *HUGS* to you and your family, sweetie!! Such a beautiful way you've written up his last times on earth, and I'm glad you were all able to be with your family during such a difficult time.

I hope the days ahead go as peacefully as they can, and that you're all able to draw strength and comfort from each other.

Sending lots of prayers, good thoughts, and *HUGS* to you all!!

Thank you, for sharing such an emotional and touching time in your life with us. I hope that in the days, weeks, months to come, you can share some more fun or special times that you had with your grandfather. I never get tired of hearing inspirational memories or just simple recollections that touch people in some special way that make you smile regardless of what happened. It such a soothing feeling, knowing that those special people who touched us will always be a part of us.

We cannot live our lives alone
For other lives we touch
Are either strengthened by our own
Or weakened just as much

I'm sure that your Grandpa left some strong memories with you. Just like you're leaving some with those kids back at school.

A great, big hug to you,

~Sean

P.S. Please get some rest.

Hey, Liz,

I saw hwimsey's post on Sunday and have been thinking of you. Three grandparents in four years must be a lot to go through. I hope you know how much we all love you, even if we've never actually met you in person.

That moment when you see life leave someone is very powerful. Just before Christmas my wife and I had the same experience with her grandfather. In truth, the memory haunted me for several weeks. Somewhere along the way it changed, though. In a strange way I consider myself lucky to have been there at the moment it happened. Knowing that the person's suffering has ended and that they're going to a better place is comforting, even through your own personal loss.

We're all here for you. Take your time coming back.

~ Felix
