That was the name of the panel on professionally published books containing gay relationships at Bitchin' Con.  I found it astonishing for the fact that I am a prolific reader in the genre but not one of my favorite authors was mentioned. Most of the books that were recced seemed to be pirate swashbucklers, alpha/omega wolves, poly relationships

It is good to see that I'm not the only one who didn't recognize most/any of the authors or stories listed. My problem is that I have had a hard time finding any that I like. I blame this mostly on bad luck as I didn't have anyone to give me recs and my choices have been real hit or miss. A few misses when you are paying for it and suddenly you are not so quick to try new things

Exactly. I'm reading one just like that now. No characterization and very little plot, but they have sex every chapter. I want sex scenes that enhance and further the plot, not that are the whole book!

Yes! Read the Josh Lanyon books. I think you'll love them.

Read what you like, and don't worry if it's "cool" or not. All of the authors you mentioned are well-established, so you're not the only one enjoying their works!
