At first, I thought this was about cheating, which is, I think, what you wanted us to think. And you really managed to build up the proper suspense. I was righteously angry and then confused, and then happy for Lou's dad. Well done!

At my small local village writing group I usually write darker post apocalyptic stories but as I've got a lot going on at the moment, I'm feeling the need to write heart-warming and happy stuff!
