silenttex's Birthday Cake (Pudding)

May 10, 2006 23:31

I made silenttex an apple and cinnamon cake for his birthday, but it came out looking more like a pudding so we ate it with custard. As a pudding it works very well, but it's not really a cake in the serve on plates and eat with fingers style of cake.

It was Gorgeous. All cinnamon scented and the top was buttery crisp. Yum!

I think it is a word, but I do not think it means what you think it means. Hold on, let me check...

Nope, OED says not a word. Impedimenta is though and that means Things which impede or encumber progress; baggage; travelling equipment (of an army, etc.).

So whether it's the one you were looking for depends on whether your cooking utensils impede your cooking. Do the spoons constantly offer useless advice? Does your weighing scale like to change the weight displayed, just for a laugh? Do the mixing bowls hide?

In my kitchen? Yes, generally...

That's a shame, 'cause I like that word... oh well...
