After the stunt he pulled in the market, it actually takes Rose and the Doctor a day and a half to find him; Jack has four mounds of freshly turned dirt, a knife blade that's been scoured clean, and a mess of half-healed 'body art' to prove it.
Their mistake had been to let him out of confinement.
Their mistake had been thinking that his ass was theirs.
Their mistake had been believing him to be some kind of off-world, do-gooding, sap and agreeing to the trade in the first place.
It had almost been a pleasure to kill them.
