Alternately (this may not necessarily work for you, and I haven't tried it personally), one thing I read on a friend's LJ is to talk with them about how beautiful/wonderful the day is, and then say that it's thanks to God.

Apparently it works because it convinces them that you don't need to be told.. ^^;;;

The problem was, he asked me about my religious background first, so he knew that I wasn't Christian. ^^;;

I've never heard of that test. ^^;; Here in Puerto Rico (and even in Japan!!) it's Jehova's Witnesses that chase people around. It turned quite irritating, but I was always polite in Japan, but there was one time when a guy came even with his whole family and hubby was the one to open the door and he was almost rude. Eep! But it's not like we were going to invite them in anyway... -_ ( ... )

No, the point of the "test" is to say that even though one has sinned and should be punished, Jesus saved everyone by taking the punishment himself, blah bleh bluh...

"destroyed the reinforcements"... sounds like a battle, lol. I hope no one was injured or killed. :P

Also, how many brothers do you have? o.o

LOL I think that to my brother it was like a battle indeed, seeing that he enjoys violent anime with lots of fighting... ^^;;

I have three brothers: Andy/bebey, Heaven's master, and P_nut. ^_^ I also have a sister: chibinemesis.

I've been having that same problem myself, as my roommate and all of my "closer" friends in grad school are pretty religious people. It hasn't been an issue up until now - I usually just bite my tongue when they start talking about religion - but yesterday I got invited to church. I replied "No thanks, not a fan of church." (At least I didn't say "Organized religion is evil.") :) Hopefully my roommate gets the hint and does not try to convert me.

As for the good day/thanking God method, I wouldn't do that myself - it's a lie, and I'd just as soon tell someone the truth. Especially if it's not someone you're particularly friends with or have to deal with every day, it's not like you have to breach the subject carefully.

Anyways, good luck with whatever tactics you choose. :) (Blunt evasion may work for you!)
