To say her side of the dorm room was a disaster now was probably putting it mildly. Her small closet was wide open and clothes had been tossed all over her bed as she tried to find the perfect outfit to wear. Even now she wasn’t quite sure how she felt about what she had on but that was mainly because she didn’t know if she should be wearing a ( Read more... )

When was the last time he'd been on a date? Clark couldn't remember. Last year, maybe, but there hadn't been much actual dating involved between him and Lana, even after she'd acquired the suit. Some kissing, some attempted seduction on her part, and a fight when he'd refused to just sleep with her now that she had powers. It had hurt, but there was that tiny voice whispering how easily she'd fallen in with Lex and Bizarro. Sometimes he really hated that voice.

Another thing he hated was being late. Having gone for the casually dressy look; pressed jeans, a dark blue shirt and a navy blazer, Clark was fairly confident he looked basically presentable. He was trying not to be furtive about it, those little peeks more high school than college, but her smile lit up the whole area for him, and he couldn't help but smile back.

"Good. They're my mom's favorite. Roses seemed a little overdone, I guess. At least for a first date. And you're welcome." Pause. "For the flowers, I mean. Dinner is ladies choice, I'm good with whatever you want to do."

Claire liked to believe the same thing about beauty being on the inside, especially since spending a couple years as a cheerleader. She had learned firsthand that being beautiful didn't necessarily mean you were a good person but she wouldn't say that pretty people are all mean either. Everyone had a choice of acting how they acted but Clark was one of those people who was handsome on the inside and just as good on the inside too. So she kept looking at him too, sometimes catching him whenever he peeked at her and suddenly she felt like a young schoolgirl. Besides the fact that she pretty much was ( ... )
