To say her side of the dorm room was a disaster now was probably putting it mildly. Her small closet was wide open and clothes had been tossed all over her bed as she tried to find the perfect outfit to wear. Even now she wasn’t quite sure how she felt about what she had on but that was mainly because she didn’t know if she should be wearing a dress. "Are you sure I shouldn’t be wearing something more casual?" She glanced over at her roommate curiously.
"I think you look great." Gretchen offered a little smile from where she sat on her side of the room, clutching her pillow. Her side of the room was clean of course, especially compared to Claire’s side but she wasn’t in the rush to get ready for a date. "You said he likes blue, right?"
"Blue or red." Claire nodded her head in confirmation, turning slowly to look in the full length mirror before she looked down at her shoes. "These are okay?" She turned back, modeling her black high heels that would give her over a couple more inches of height. Still nowhere near being eye level with Clark but it was a little better than her usual five foot one height.
"Claire, you look great." Gretchen rolled her eyes, looking somewhat amused. It was a little awkward for them both, especially considering Gretchen had admitted before to having a crush on Claire but they wanted their friendship more than anything. So she could be supportive about Claire going on if that’s what she needed to do. She supported her through the other stuff.
"Okay...crap. Is that really the time?" Her eyes widened a bit as she noticed the time on the bedside clock, cursing just a bit as she moved to grab the black jacket hanging on the back of the door. "He should be here." She brushed a long strand of blonde hair from her face, twirling slowly in a circle as she looked for her purse. When she spotted it, she snatched it up and made sure she had everything she needed before glancing up with a brilliant smile. "I’ll be back later." She waved at her friend before slipping out of the room.
A few minutes later, she slipped out of the dorm and paused on the steps as she looked for Clark with a nervous little nibble to her bottom lip. She was dressed in a short blue
mini dress and a pair of black heels under her black jacket. She didn’t bother much with makeup, not overly so, because she felt she didn’t need it. Holding her purse tightly, she continued to look as she walked slowly down the steps.
