I broke.

I couldn't take the stress anymore. I couldn't live the lie without at least trying to find a way to heal.  Decades have passed since my first pass through this personal chaos, and I managed to keep a lid -- forget it, really -- until a year or so ago.

This year has been painful.

Between a nephew committing suicide and another with advanced lung cancer -- a non-smoker and not even 45 -- the family feels as if we're under siege.

This morning I received a call that my brother-in-law had test results indicating a pulmonary embolism.

Excuse me while I go find a corner to cry in.

What a difference (nearly) a month makes.

I had managed to really get into a pissy mood and was stuck there.

I was that close to just pulling everything off-line.

Things aren't perfect, but my outlook has improved markedly. I'll take what I can get.
