Well. It was mostly because of the area of town. 2 minutes away from where we were staying, there was normal food. For normal budgets.
But Mel and Ryland drove like 10 minutes out to this super-shmancy little craplet of a town that was designed to suck rich mother fuckers dry of their money.
And that was why I turned pissy in 2 seconds flat. Can you feel me?

Yeah, I would have been annoyed, too. I don't like throwing my money away just because someone else has decided that's what THEY'RE going to do.
And really, for them to get all catty like that was silly. So what if you were particular about where you ate? It happens. I just wonder when it occurred to them that pointedly ignoring you would somehow make it all better...
I would also add that this was the LEAST EXPENSIVE place I could find in said ritzy area.
All the other restaurants were charging at least $17 per plate for their cheapest meals. I was just so upset by the end of the whole thing.
I'm not made of money - I just don't understand how anyone else can want to piss their money away either. And why I should be condemned for feeling awkward about the entire thing. Like suddenly I'm just some little kid with a "bad attitude," when, honestly - adults budget their money. At least they do if they're independent and have half a brain.

Heh, I get like that sometimes with food. I think, "Geez, do I want to spend *that* much for a meal?" Food can get too spendy sometimes...
