Suggestions? Well, you're off to a great start with the Thompson and Garand. If possible, keep an eye out for anyone with WWII German kit. An StG 44 / MP 44 (world's first assault rifle) or a G41 / G43 rifle (German's attempt at a Garand but magazine fed). MG42 is also a good idea from Luke, but averaging 1200 rounds a minute, you'd burn through your $20 of rounds in 2, maybe 2.5 seconds
