It had been a relief when Jim came. Even more so when his friend agreed to be his best man. He'd wanted nobody else and had only been hopeful that Jim could put aside what little sadness he still felt at him leaving his ship, to be there for him.

The walk didn't take long and when they got to the gazebo, Christa stepped up the two steps and turned her head to smile at her father before he walked over to the chair next to her mother. Turning again, she smiled at Leonard before she handed her flowers to her matron of honor - her younger cousin Tracy - and stepped to stand beside Leonard.
Reaching out, she took his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze before looking at the minister. "We're ready to begin," she told him.

"We are gathered here today to witness the union between Leonard McCoy and Christa Pike. If there's anyone that can show just cause these two shouldn't get married, speak now or forever hold your peace," the minister said before giving the two a sheepish look. "I have to say it."
"It's all right," Christa said with a small laugh before she glanced over at Leonard.
