Christa was both nervous and excited. She had never expected to get married but Leonard had changed all of that. While some would say he was only doing it because she was pregnant, Christa knew he loved her as much as she loved him, and her pregnancy was only one small part of it

Leonard struggled to sleep the night before, such was his excitement. Ironically, he wasn't nervous. Nerves were for people with second guesses, or for people with a sniff of doubt. But he had none of that. Christa made him happy. They were to have a family together. He'd wanted to marry her even before she fell pregnant; this wasn't him 'doing the right thing' by his pregnant partner. This was him, marrying the woman he was meant to be with.

It had been a relief when Jim came. Even more so when his friend agreed to be his best man. He'd wanted nobody else and had only been hopeful that Jim could put aside what little sadness he still felt at him leaving his ship, to be there for him.

He stood waiting for her in his best suit with Jim by his side. He took a deep breath and lifted his head when he felt Jim nudge him in he side to alert him to look up

With her arm in her father's, Christa watched as everyone stood for her walk down the aisle. When she turned her attention back to Leonard, she found herself grinning at how happy he looked.

The walk didn't take long and when they got to the gazebo, Christa stepped up the two steps and turned her head to smile at her father before he walked over to the chair next to her mother. Turning again, she smiled at Leonard before she handed her flowers to her matron of honor - her younger cousin Tracy - and stepped to stand beside Leonard.

Reaching out, she took his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze before looking at the minister. "We're ready to begin," she told him.

The smile was fixed to his features, warming and lighting up his entire face. He felt almost giddy at the sight of her, increasingly so the nearer she came to him. His hand was already reaching for hers when hers was out to meet his. He returned her squeeze and shifted his position to face the minister. More ready for this than he had been for anything else in his life.

Christa found herself staring at Leonard, her heart almost bursting with the love she felt for him. When the minister cleared his throat, Christa tore her gaze away from Leonard and looked at the other man.

"We are gathered here today to witness the union between Leonard McCoy and Christa Pike. If there's anyone that can show just cause these two shouldn't get married, speak now or forever hold your peace," the minister said before giving the two a sheepish look. "I have to say it."

"It's all right," Christa said with a small laugh before she glanced over at Leonard.

"I'd love ta do that," he chuckled quietly, squeezing her hand firmly. "If only, huh?"

Christa looked over her shoulder at the guest, most of them talking amongst themselves. She then turned to look at Leonard again, a mischievous smile gracing her lips. "I am pregnant and you are a doctor. Maybe the excited of the day has been too much for me and you think we should leave earlier so I can properly rest," she said.

He chuckled quietly, leaning in close to kiss that mischievous smile of hers with quirked lips of his own. "You do know that they're all goin' to jus' know we've gone off ta have sex, right?"

She returned the kiss and softly laughed. "Do we really care what they think? After all, we are married now so I think we deserve to have sex," she said.
