The Vatican has released a document titled “Guidelines for the Pastoral Care of the Road,” an ethical instruction on good driving habits for Catholics.  I think this is a brilliant move; after all, driving is at the core of modern life, and if your faith doesn't apply to issues like turning without signaling, what good is it?

In many parts of Europe and the Middle East, there are no traffic lights or rules, and people just figure it out. I understand it works quite well, though I am dubious of its efficiency in time or gas usage.

They are doing experiments somewhere in the Netherlands I believe. They are doing just that, removing all lights and signs and it appears that people take more personal responsibility and care while driving.

This would imply that the vast majority of drivers in the DC area are Thelemites. I fear this is not the case. :-p

I think given the chance we'd come up with a high-tech solution, cars that drive themselves so that our transport doesn't have to interfere with our worship with "wine and strange drugs."
