I had never heard of the philosopher Ken Wilber before reading this Salon article, but now I'm convinced I need to read his books.  His "integral philosophy" appears to be a modern take on what Crowley called "scientific illuminism".  Are any of you familiar with his works?  I'd be interested in commentary, if so.

The Vatican has released a document titled “Guidelines for the Pastoral Care of the Road,” an ethical instruction on good driving habits for Catholics.  I think this is a brilliant move; after all, driving is at the core of modern life, and if your faith doesn't apply to issues like turning without signaling, what good is it?
