Maine's Marriage Equality Bill has passed the House! Now for the Governor's signature, and that is looking fairly promising.

ETA: Whoops, sorry. It has to go back to the Senate for final approval, apparently, then to the Governor. The Senate vote shouldn't be more than a formality, I wouldn't think, as it passed with such a wide margin to ( Read more... )

Yup! Now I have to email the Governor. I think he'll sign it, but I'm certainly going to lobby him. :)

I'm sure there will be a People's Veto vote in November. The opposition needs 55000 signatures, and I don't think that will be a problem for them. Winning, is another thing. It won't be easy, and probably not pretty, but we will by-god get there.

And a very happy birthday to you today! I love that Lee posted links to some of your fic because it's not like I haven't had "Power Play" bookmarked since I got into fandom or anything so I'm planning to go read them again. Hope you're birthday is wonderful!
