Snow, Bone Deep Stupidity, and Brilliance

We had a storm... a while ago - they're all starting to blend together - where it snowed for a day and a half, then turned to rain and sleet for half a day, then back to a day of snow. Don't know how much we got all together because it was so compact. I tried to push a path across the deck through 4" of the stuff and couldn't go more than a foot ( Read more... )

I'm not sure about the benefit of encouraging silence and prejudice and fear as opposed to, say, also running a public service ad campaign concurrent with the start of testing, to show how brave and honest mothers are for being tested, what a good thing they're doing for their unborn child. Although apparently Senator Dave has missed every single PSA ever made....

I hope you're okay with your sticky snow. It sounds like the sort that could bring down trees and power lines....

It amazes me that people who are in charge of voting on legislation that impacts so many people can not bother to learn some of the basic facts surrounding that issue. The man doesn't even seem to know how you get AIDS! And ya know? I don't believe he cares.... The bill did pass; he was the only dissenting vote.

Lot of people without power. I lost mine for about four hours, but it was in the middle of the night, so I hardly noticed. When I saw the snow, I figured we'd lose power, so I filled some buckets and jugs. I was lucky, though. When I got up to take Martha out at 3am, the power was out, but I'd put a flashlight by the bed, and after she was finished, we just went back to bed.

I would be very happy to send you some of our 86 degrees today so that we could get back to being a bit more temperate here. *flips on the AC*

That guy... wow. I'll bet he calls himself a Christian, too.

I definitely want to see Milk. I heard an interview with the director on NPR, and apparently Sean Penn inhabited his character so well that people who had known Harvey Milk had to leave the set because they were either crying or weirded out. (And that would be pretty damn weird.)

Right now, at about 10pm, it's the warmest it's been all day. We're due for more... weather: rain, snow, rain, fog, sleet.... *sighs*

A Christian? I'm sure. A Republican, for certain.

I can believe that about SP; he did a fantastic job. It's a very moving film.

I hope you do not lose power again and I'm hoping spring will get here soon. *sends warm thoughts*

I have no comment on the stupidity.

Spring will be right along. Just another 4-6(10-12) weeks now. Really.

There really isn't much to say to that, is there?

*snuggles under warm thoughts*

Ahhhhhhh.

*basks*

Thanks, Honey.

It rained last night, and a lot of the snow is gone. Not down to the ground yet, but at least we're headed in the right direction.
