I spent the day skiing, got home late, and so figured I'd just knock off a drabble for today's Porn Battle contribution. Didn't work out that way. (Ran up against the comment character-count limit yet again. Sigh.)

Awwww, poor Horatio and Archie! If only they were somehow put in a situation in which they would be living in one another's pockets for a considerable length of time and therefore inevitably forced to admit their feelings to one another!

I would probably not have written this pairing were it not that this was the choice given. But, you know, they are all good. And aw, thank you for the encouragement and the praise, and if I continue to write in this fandom, I will do my best to write you a bit of Hornblower/Pellew. :-)

Aw, I am so, so flattered! Really, it just makes me giddy with delight when someone reads a story in an unfamiliar fandom just because I wrote it, because, wow, what a compliment. It's a serious challenge, to write a complete scene in 4300 characters (what fits into an lj-comment) - to get background, sensuality, emotion, and action all crammed into the small space. I'm happy it all came through to you. So, stalk me all you like! Yay

Hee, the icon is a quote from mina_de_malfois, which was a sort of parody of fans, fanfiction, and would-be-BNFs.

And, the language and adult (that is, implied sex) content of the movies is no greater than DS, but there's quite a bit of violence. They are about the Napoleonic Wars, after all. The very first one is about a shipboard bully who abuses and mistreats Hornblower and many of the other midshipmen, and there are duels and deaths. On the other hand, the stories are set firmly within real history, and I think they're a good combination of entertainment and education.
