I spent the day skiing, got home late, and so figured I'd just knock off a drabble for today's Porn Battle contribution. Didn't work out that way. (Ran up against the comment character-count limit yet again. Sigh.)

Aw, thank you very much, but alas you will search in vain, because this is my first. (Although I have written Aubrey/Maturin and one gen Sharpe story.) I have been muttering vaguely about writing Hornblower for the last year, but somehow all my intentions have come to naught. It was nice to have the excuse to write a little something, though, and thanks very much for the kind words.

I've never got around to discovering this fandom, but this is gorgeous. Love that sense of desperation, that mutual longing tempered by fear.

Also, I am incredibly envious of your day skiing - a morning on a dry slope or indoors just doesn't hit the spot.

And hee, another UK friend of mine mentioned indoor skiing. I can't imagine it. Skiing for me is a way to get out and enjoy the winter doing something physical - I wouldn't do it if I had to do it indoors.
