[At some point during the night, Elliot awoke from his usual nightmare. There was nothing particularly unusual about this-he had that same nightmare often, after all, and it was rare for him to actually sleep through the entire night whenever he had it.
Yet, for as normal as this situation was, it didn't quite explain why Elliot's bedsheets were torn to shreds this morning. It also didn't explain why Elliot continues to sit on his bed as he waits for his servant, as if there's nothing unusual about all of this whatsoever. He doesn't seem the least bit concerned with... well. Anything.]
[There is a brief knock on the door before it opens and Leo slips in quietly, shutting the door with not as much of a click behind him. He tends to let Elliot sleep in even if the sun's up; with all the trouble that his master's nightmares give him, he'd really rather let him get enough sleep than walk around half-asleep- especially in this place. He turns, and as he does, he runs his palm under his glasses onto his eyes. He's not certain if the lenses of these glasses have been tainted more with fingerprints than he's used to but things have been more fuzzy and greyer today. He's not sure, he's never really had to think about these things.
Well, no matter. He wasn't in a hurry to find out.
Thus, his eyes are closed when he turns towards the bed and he calls out (softly, not loud enough to rouse a sleeping person but loud enough for someone who's awake in this quiet room to hear)--]
[Elliot glances at Leo when he enters the room. When he responds, he speaks in his regular voice to show that he's been awake for at least a little while now.]

[There were mentions of a flower viewing over the journals a few days ago. Elliot would never admit it, but he was intrigued by the idea from the start. Unfortunately, it wasn't something that he could do alone. Or, rather, something he didn't want to do alone. It wouldn't be very interesting by himself.
Things had been quiet lately, however. He'd tried waiting for his servant to speak up, since he was the one who'd been most upset about everything that had happened, but there was no such luck. It was said that those flowers wouldn't last very long... Which meant that Elliot couldn't afford to wait much longer if he wanted to see the cherry blossoms.
And that meant that it was time for Elliot Nightray to man up and try to approach his servant once again. So he leaves his room this morning in search of his servant. It's the first time he's actually looking for him in a while.]
[For someone who's been blind for a week, Leo sure doesn't act like he's glad to be able to see again; his vision-impairing glasses are on and his hair has been swept to the front again. In fact, he might give off the aura that he frankly doesn't like it because he's barely said two words to anyone for the past week.
Today, he'll be seated at the window seat in the living room and reading silently.]
[It won't take Elliot long to find Leo, but he still doesn't find him right away. The first place he goes to check is his servant's room-knowing how Leo could be, especially with that temper of his, he's hesitant to do so, but he eventually invites himself into Leo's room to find no one there at all. There weren't many other places that he could be, though. Leo had no reason to be upstairs. There was no music. The hallway was silent. Elliot hadn't spotted him near the kitchen since that incident... Unless Leo had gone out (and he doubted that he had), there was only one other place he could be.
Elliot wanders into the living room soon after, spotting his servant sitting at the window. Once again, he is hesitant to approach, and just watches him sitting there, reading.
He's betting that Leo will turn down his request.]
[The footsteps around the inner hallways haven't gone unnoticed for Leo is actually having more difficulty in concentrating on his book than he'd care to admit. It wasn't the book at hand to blame -he had no bones to pick with crime novellas and this one was a particularly engaging read- but rather the events of last week still weighed heavily on his mind.
...especially when it was clear that neither him nor Elliot had been willing to break the silence after their talk that one night.
So when Elliot stops and stares at him, Leo'll raise his head and regard his master impassively.]

[Though Elliot didn't say so, he was more than looking forward to visiting the library with his master. Things had been strange since the night of the festival, what with everything going on in the village and with the dreams that everyone was suddenly having. Elliot wasn't as troubled by these dreams as others were, though. Maybe it was because his current dreams weren't much worse than they usually were.
Regardless, the library was always a nice place to be, and if it's where his master wanted to go, Elliot would follow him without question.]
Re: [action—April 26]ishisfriendApril 28 2011, 06:15:15 UTC
[Except that Leo has been quiet the whole walk today- perhaps it might not be anything new that he's quiet but something definitely not right. Elliot's presence today is more of an order than a request, after all.
[Only a little more awkward than usual. Elliot was used to Leo being quiet, after all, and it usually didn't bother him very much. It was obvious that something was probably wrong, and Elliot didn't doubt that it was the dreams. Still, talking about those kinds of things in public wasn't appropriate. Maybe once they were settled in the library, he could bring it up.]
[Well, here's to hoping that Elliot has the patience to extract those answers out of Leo because judging by how Leo pulls open the library door- wordlessly and yet with more force than perhaps necessary- it may be difficult to do so.
Oh, and walk a little faster, will you? He won't hold the door open for you, Elliot.]
[It's been a long weekend for Elliot. A very long one. It might not be hard to tell whenever Leo discovers the short, quick, and not-very-well-filtered message in his journal this afternoon. Of course, no matter how obvious it is, perhaps that isn't something he'll be thinking about when he hears it.
[The message that waits for him goes unnoticed for a good ten minutes despite Leo having propped the journal open since Friday- not because he's not paying attention, but more of because he's well-- preoccupied. His journal doesn't ring, and it's only when he finally clears the remaining shards of the broken vase (from the top of the piano he'd let fly across the room) from the floor that he actually looks at it.
Leo's not sure if he can breathe.
Actually, he's not sure if he has as he stares at it for a minute before he violently hits replay and listens once, twice. It is him, it's Elliot, he could never mistaken a voice like that.
[Finally. Elliot's in too much pain to sound relieved, but he truly is glad to hear that voice.]
H-hell if I know. I can't... [Ugh, that isn't very helpful and he knows it. He has to try. There's a pause as he looks around, trying to find something that stands out. He didn't want to be out here anymore. He just wants to... go home. He takes another breath before responding.] By those large buildings. I... I can hear the river.

[Today is just another really... hot... day in Luceti. It's exhausting, and it makes working on his song that much more difficult. Elliot doesn't spend much time at the piano before he decides he can't take it anymore, then heads to the kitchen in search of something cold to drink. Maybe he'd change into clothes that were more appropriate for this kind of weather...
[Leo resists the urge to take a look at what Elliot's been doing at the piano (though he can guess; it's hard to keep secrets from someone who practically stays by your side during your every waking hour) as he hears the sound of the refrigerator opening. It's one of these times that he actually does appreciate all this...modern technology, that's for sure.
Either way, he sounds much more upbeat than usual. He is talking to Elliot after all.]
[Elliot turns when he hears his servant speak up. It's not that he hasn't noticed how oddly upbeat Leo has been all morning-he's just been trying to... ignore it. It makes him kind of uncomfortable. He gives him a very simple (and perhaps obvious) answer.]
