When the Small Boy and I are out together, just the two of us we get asked about "his mother" and "my wife". Apparently she must be proud that I take him out in public, glad I do the shopping, and delighted with the Small Boy. When My tender Beast goes out in public, without me and in the company of the Small Boy ze gets asked about hir wife:

Maybe our husband eloped with your wife. We could really use some help with taking the garbage out and changing the oil in our cars. Though honestly, a housewife would be even better.
