Are water heaters programmed to die on weekends? We're pretty sure it's just the thermal coupling, but we don't have a new one and we don't know how to get the broken one off. So all I can do is call the plumbers first thing Monday morning and hope they can come out soon. I don't mind going a day or two without a shower, but I can only hope that ( Read more... ) -

Anyone know what this is? It's going to be in town this weekend and I have no idea what it is. Apparently, it hits a lot of places in Colorado so maybe someone up there knows. It's at the fairgrounds and I don't know if it's worth getting McFussiePants in the car and heading out there. -
Makeup questions
Where's the best place in Albuquerque to shop for makeup? I don't want to limit myself to just one brand and I want a good selection. I always seem to have an allergic reaction to Cover Girl and Maybelline. I'm looking for some normal stuff, but I'm really hunting for my Halloween makeup. I need superhero red and blue eyeliner. Last Halloween, I made a Victorian overskirt out of a faux-leather fabric. I didn't think it turned out like I wanted, so I made a second one that I liked better. I finally got the first one up on ebay. It sold well and this is the feedback they left for me.

Holy Shit!
I was driving the back road from Wal-Mart to my house. I had the window in my car open a little because it hadn't started raining yet, but the lighting was all around. I've been seeing this crawling weed all over our back yard this year. I haven't been too concerned because they weren't thorny and they at least made the back yard look a little green. Yesterday I saw past the subterfuge and realized what they really are; Goatheads ( Read more... ) -
The garden
We had our first vegetable from the garden last night. I was able to harvest 2 Italian squashes, each about 9 inches long. Cooked it up with some fresh herbs that we've grown in the front flower bed. It was kinda nice eating something I had a hand in from the very start.
