My grandmother, now 3 years departed, often said this when I was scared of ghosts. "Think about all of the people who have died, they were good people who loved their families on earth. If they came back they would never hurt you."

I think that if a spirit is lingering, or you are getting a sense that she is there, she is there to comfort you. By lingering a bit longer, perhaps she is giving you a chance to adjust and give you a sense she is ok.

Death is such a weird thing, with so many emotions attached. Keep focusing on the happy memories.

As far as your dad going to the Philippines and paying the bills. It might be a good thing for you to do. It will help your mom out alot and will help you learn how to do it. My advice, be REALLY REALLY organized (make yourself a bill area and set up a calendar) and PAY EVERYTHING ON TIME! Late fees are horrible and screw up your credit. Good luck!
