I actually already lived in Japan for 12 months and taught ESL to students between the ages of 3 and 83. I thoroughly enjoyed it - hence why I want to continue that area of study.

I've kept my eye on the education employment section of the newspaper, and also working at the Immigration Museum, I see a lot of ESL positions available. Naturally, I *imagine* myself teaching ESL to adult learners - whether that could become a reality or not though, I don't know and I'm not going to fool myself into thinking everything will always be perfect.

My whole point though, is should I study English or French as a second teaching method? In this instance, the English I am talking about is the type of high school English we ALL went through. Reading books, discussing plots, themes, genres etc.

I am pretty sure I know what I am getting myself into with the whole ESL thing.

oh! added to that. My degree will be in secondary teaching anyway, I won't be qualified to teach little kids who are being forced to learn English. It's a whole other teaching area in itself :)
