I've seen a lot of people talk about how the incident with the prison made them disgusted, and that's about where I stand, too. It wouldn't be a good idea to turn out backs on what the deities did, and it wouldn't be a good idea to forget what was wrong about it. Of course, we can't just try and take down the deities. That wouldn't do us any good, ( Read more... )

We'd of course have to ensure that such a system will not be easily corrupted from the inside. There are enough problems as it is.

Do you think that's possible, Tieria?

I wouldn't have said so otherwise. If it can be worked towards in a world as large as ours, there is no reason why it couldn't be achieved here.

It'll just take a little longer. We have more than just your average earth to consider.

It is possible for the citizens to create such a system if they unite with a common goal. However, there is the possibility that such a system can cause distortion when those in power begin to suppress others instead of understanding them.

In any case, as long as there are those willing to challenge the system if it strays, then the people should indeed build their own future. A future created by mutual understanding.

Do you think the deities can be overcome, then?

Yes.

Even if we do not have enough resources in this City as we do in our world, it is possible.

Unfortunately, I think the first thing we'll have to accept when taking it upon ourselves to build a government is that it will fail, break down, or otherwise be manipulated at some point. That said, I think a less powerful system would be preferable if possible, in order to minimize the resulting damage.

There have been a handful of stirrings about the creation of laws, to little effect. The last Warden had spoken of intending to initiate just such a thing. Perhaps that is why the system was ended?
