Okay, so the invitations have been mailed out. The Chairman truly wishes he could invite all of you (and, perhaps, turn the reception into one big IRON POET tournament?)

Now that the deed is done, what should the Chairman and Chairwoman have said in the invitation? A haiku of matrimonial proportions? A limerick of love? A sonnet of celebration ( Read more... )

No submissions, so The Chairman must supply his own!

To the tune of "On Broadway"

The church is 3-9-9 Medford, off Broadway
We'll see you all there promptly around 1:00
And when she's walkin' down the aisle
I hope you'll all join me and smile
I know our wedding will be lots of fun

And then we'll be at Anthony's of Malden
Our reception starts there around 3:00
We'll make sure there's enough to eat
And then warm up your dancing feet
Because we plan to dance the night away

They say that weddings don't mean much in this day
Half of 'em fail, as love grows stale, they all say
But they're dead wrong, I know they are
We know exactly who we are
And we can face whatever comes our way
