So I was out running errands (I live in Birmingham, AL) and ran across a slew of $7 Iron Man shirts! I grabbed my BlackBerry and snapped some pics:

WHY are there no t-shirts with Tony Stark as Tony on them? I swear I've looked high and low, and I finally designed my own frakking t-shirt...

Maybe Downey was weirded out by having his face on a shirt? Who knows.

It's an image rights issue. They have to pay him like woah to use his likeness in the merchandising. It's not worth it to them.

Take, for example, the comic book version of Jack Sparrow. It has the elements of the character owned by the corporate parent (costume, hair) but not Johnny Depp's face. That'd cost.

...Is it wrong that I kind of want the backpack too? Never had a purse in my life, but that I would drag around town for sure. Geekalicious.
