Вчера по дороге в зоопарк ребенок опозорил семью, а заодно и всю русскую общину. Когда на очередной остановке в вагон зашел чернокожий товарищ, Лялька, показывая на него пальцем на весь вагон закричала: "Мама! Смотри какой страшный!" Хорошо еще что по-русски, но товарищ явно понял что ребенок именно на него показывает пальцем и возбужденно кричит

Moi 3-letniy rebenok, v otlichie ot menya, escho ne sposoben dumat' odno, a govorit' drugoe. Poetomu tak.

Don't be embarrassed. Perfectly normal behavior. Black kids do it also when confronted with Jewish kids or white kids if they have not seen them before. When my kids do this, I try to point out something nice about the person. Like, "yes, that lady is black and look at her pretty hair".

Yeah, I know its normal. Just at the time when it happens it tends to make you red in the face. And because I am not as smart as you :) I couldn't come up with such a nice diversion :))
By the way, this problem is only enforced by the fact that in all Jewish children's books all characters are not only Jewish, but Religious - all men are wearing yarmulkes and ladies - sheitels or some kinds of head coverings.
