Au revoir, c'était intéressant...

After 4-and-a-bit years and 112 entries, I've decided that I'm not going to post on LiveJournal any more. The idea behind joining it in the first place was to have a place to vent my frustrations and my joys, to announce details of my musical plans and exploits, and to have relaxed, friendly discussions about things (I think I said that to someone ( Read more... )

Belated comment, I know. I was meaning to say *something* but then the Star Trek: The Next Generation double-bill came on BBC 2. And it wasn't going to watch itself.

But I see where you're coming from. Where's the satisfaction in posting if nobody has anything to say in response? Ahh well. I was feeling especially stalker-ish today and so decided to take a peek at some of your Journal's back-issues, and I see what you mean; things that would probably merit attention are being overlooked. Also, I can't believe so many people think a milliard is a billion! I was always brought up with the "long billion" and this new-fangled "American billion" completely threw me off, if I remember rightly.

Hmm. That was... er, suitably irrelevant.

Anyway, I hope all goes well for you and I suppose there's little more for me to say here other than "bye bye on LJ, Tom". :)

I would post a farewell poem but I'm feeling particularly uninspired today. :P

And the other logic has it that:
A million = 1,000,000 ^1
A billion = 1,000,000 ^2
A trillion = 1,000,000 ^3
etc, where the 'bi', 'tri', 'quad' bits denote the number of times a million is to be multiplied by itself.
