Just because you haven't earned the opportunity to hear my loving tone doesn't mean I don't have one.

In this case, however, my loving tone probably had a splash of sarcasm to spice it up.

You could use a loving tone in a sarcastic manner, but I doubt that you did such in this situation.

Okay perhaps I mixed up "loving tone" with "maternal tone." Maternal tones can be full of love, concern, and sarcasm, right?
Is that acceptable...I didn't think you were so sensitive about tones.
