mediocre, gay-themed movies

Recently, I watched a succession of mediocre, gay-themed movies. This seemed like a good idea when I started, but the mediocrity really began to get to me. I shall now rank these movies from "unwatchable dreck" to "okay" -- believe me, there is no "good" or "outstanding" in this list

I watched Shelter with my friend who just came out, and he asked me to recommend other good gay-themed movies. I felt really bad breaking it to him that that is like looking for a needle in a badly-acted haystack.

I really have an unhealthy amount of love for mediocre gay movies. Dare actually sounds familiar, though I think it's just a film I've heard of with a faintly similar theme - but I might try to seek that one out.
