I really think your idea is a great one, and I'm totally with you about the maybe someday wanting to raise a child, but really not wanting to birth one. I would suggest that you consider domestic adoption instead, though. There are so many American children waiting to be adopted because couples in the United States would rather have an infant or adopt from overseas. International adoption can be pretty shady. A lot of children who are adopted by American parents aren't orphans at all, but are victims of child trafficking.

I only meant chinese in ethnicity, and not necessarily in nationality. New laws in China make it impossible to adopt a child from there unless you are a 2-person, heterosexual couple.
