Obama took South Carolina. I'm so, so pleased. This means a number of things, which I'll put behind an LJ-cut because I'm rather ill-informed and this is all speculation.

First, there is the theory of sexuality. This means things like "what is a heterosexual, what is a homosexual, and how were these terms created?"

Then there is the political aspect: "How does the government dictate what kinds of sexual expression are acceptable?" For instance: The age of sexual consent differs from state to state. A man who marries a younger girl might have to cross state lines in order to marry her, but might also be subject to statute that turn him from a loving fiance into a sex offender.

Then, there are sodomy laws, which basically follow the Puritan ethic of "Sex is bad, unless it's between two married adults for the purposes of procreation."

Eventually, if you have the benefit of a good instructor, the notions of homosexuality or heterosexuality seem absurd and you realize that generalizing an individual's desires, actions, and impulses under one label is stupid, and sexuality is just another part of life that religion and culture have ruined for too many people.

Queens college. And that was my favorite class. I did very well on the papers I did submit, just not the final.

So write your papers, try at least.
It's not a question of whether you can or cannot finish them, its whether you will or not. you have control of the situation. just get through it.
