I guess I'm person #2 in North America to like Boone. <.g> I saw the pilot, but then only just recently got hooked. I thought the pen thing in the pilot was endearing, and liked him from there on out. I never knew he was so disliked!

He's...not disliked, exactly, but the man is not getting any love. Which I do not get at *all*.

Now the love going to Sawyer, that I don't understand.

Physically attractive and triggers the alpha-male sensors that persist in the human female because we haven't had enough evolutionary time for the disadvantage of having a jerky (or even abusive) mate to outweigh the advantages that came with having a spouse who was mean enough to take on a cave bear or whatever to save his family and perhaps even survive the experience.

I like Boone. I don't adore him or anything, because I didn't feel I had a grip on the character till Hearts and Minds, and I'm not sure I'm liking Locke'sThug!Boone that we've seen since, but I also think they're going somewhere with that. So I guess I'm #3.

And I totally want to to see the Jack rant.

No, I totally agree that Boone was just sort of...floating out there 'til he became Thug!Boone. (Who is awesome, and did you see the promo tonight? FLAILING!)

But there's this weird vibe that I've been seeing, that people just *don't like* the guy. And I understand that, but I'd just like to know *why*.

And I totally don't get why people don't like *Jack*, of all people, so that'll be fun.

Boone is the Riley Finn of Lost.

And Jack is cool too. I don't see why people diss him. For god's sakes, he willingly took on the leadership for forty odd idiots and (with a little help from Dead Daddykins) saved their asses.

Jack has continually balked and dragged his feet on accepting the responsibility the other survivors have thrust upon him. If he didn't have Hurley around to be keeping people from actually killing each other he would have run into more problems by now.

I love Boone. Aside from being incredibly gorgegous (yum, yum, yum), he's also really trying to be helpful. Granted, he might be moving in the wrong direction by tagging along with Locke, but he still wants to be so damn helpful, like a bouncy little puppy. :)

Thank you! He *tries*, man.

Also, Ian Somerhalder is not hard on the eyes. Possibly JJ could make Boone do something without a shirt on at some point. I would not complain about that. Nuh-uh.

Yes. Locke needs to institute a shirtless minions policy. For misguided evil with style.

"You need to take your shirt off. So I can do a tracheotomy."

I agree. There's so few people in the world who are willing to FOLLOW. Boone may screw it up, but he tries, dammit.

Hmm. Boone's probably my least-favorite character on the island. Why? I find him creepy (but not intriguing-creepy like I do Locke, but more pathetic-creepy, and not necessarily because of the quasi-incest thing), with a weird sense of entitlement; he thinks he's strong, but he's misguided and weak and incompetent without the proper self-awareness of his weakness, which makes him dangerous. He plays lip-service to the standard P-C liberal moral codes but I don't feel any of that comes from deep-seated personal integrity or strength of character.

Now, all that may constitute the making of an interestingly flawed character, but personally I find Ian Sommerlander fairly limited as an actor, so I am not getting much depth out of the portrayal. I don't even find him that pretty as other people seem to. He seems creepily-pretty and kind of vacant.

Eh, overly harsh? But you asked, so...

No, it's not harsh. It's interesting. The whole thing is interesting, especially seeing which castaways are someone's favorite(s). (And I like hearing your opinions on things ( ... )

I love me some Boone, too. I don't even feel a need to justify it. I just love Boone, always have, always will.

Thank you! Okay, so that's two people so far, not counting me.
