Ah, I didn't mean to suggest there isn't still sexism in the workplace and particularly those that are considered 'male' areas, but more that the sexism depicted was so 80s. It reminded me exactly of the original Prime Suspect and that was, like, 20 years ago.
I feel that sexism is less...obvious? I dunno if that's the word I'm looking for. But it's certainly something you can't be so open and 'look at me, I'm being sexist and isn't it hilarious and fun' about. I think that sexism has become kind of sneakier.
Just with the way workplace laws are nowadays sexism can't be so blatant. It can certainly be there - and certainly is there, but those being sexist have to have the appearance of not being obviously sexist.
Obviously I've never worked in law enforcement in the US or the UK, but even so, I'd think that they'd have to be cleverer and sneakier about how they act because of the new blood coming in that won't allow it.
Those scenes in Prime Suspect just seemed so outdated - the kind of thing I expect to see on cop shows from
