Emergency Purchase

Okay, I need a refurbished MacBook laptop (not a Pro) with 2Gb RAM and Bootcamp. I need the standard MS Office suite of programs AND a copy of WordPerfect. My budget is $2,000. Is this possible and where do I start?

mac, apple, technology

Hmmm. Are those Canadian dollars?

In any case, now I'm thinking of going for a new MacBook (the new models were just released) instead of a refurb. It would be nice to be at the front end of the technology curve for once instead of older and cheaper, as I usually do.

What about Powerbookguy? Not sure if he has everything you need, but he's a good place to start, I think.

Wow, never heard of Powerbook Guy. Pretty nifty site, but it looks like he only sells parts, not systems. Not to worry, I think I'm going to buy new rather than refurb.

I was going to send you to the PowerBookGuy too. If you or someone who can reasonably take delivery of a laptop at your house is a student, go to the Apple Education store online and you will get really great prices.

Does being an elementary school student count?
