So, things are going well in Pittsburgh. I was horribly homesick for about a week. I still am missing Vermont and Becca and all of my many friends a lot. My project is really getting going, though, and I am really interested in it. So I'm sitting in my car in the rain in Middlebury, about to leave for a 10 hour drive to Pittsburgh. I am sad, and also excited, and also hungry. My laptop battery is dwindling.  I feel like the biggest ball of stress right now.  I do feel like there was a point like this last semester but it wasn't as bad because I was outside more.  I feel physically uncomfortable from it but haven't been able to find the time to give myself the ability to feel better through exercise, sitting in the woods, going driving, anything like ( Read more... )

I'm not sure exactly how tomorrow is going to go, but there are a variety of ways in which it could be an awesome day.

Also I bought this hat (see profile pic) for $3.50 at a thrift store so I could look like a '19th century naturalist'.  I don't know if it fulfills that role but I think I like this hat and want to wear it often.

Spring is here early this year.  It's very warm (by vermont standards), and sunny, and beautiful.  Everyone is outside.  Someone even gave me a hot dog when I walked by.  Everyone is making new friends.  The sunset was amazing.  I feel like I passed a point of high stress and mild loneliness over spring break.  Well, I passed it, and things seem ( Read more... )

I was feeling slightly moody walking home tonight but I arrived home and my roommates were playing rock band with a bunch of friends.  That cheered me right up, as did drinking some Russian Imperial Stout.

So I went snowboarding on Saturday for the second half of the day.  It was so amazing that I had to go again yesterday.  It was great fun, good company of various friends, amazing weather, and I was doing really well...  until the end of the day yesterday when I fell pretty hard a couple of times... not enough to cause any long-term injury, but ( Read more... )
