Well. I received another empty envelope from the student affairs office; the mystery continues.

Someone found another early Picasso, tucked on some English estate. He was about twenty when he painted it. These days it's risky layering too much praise on the man--people will look at you like you're stupid, I've seen it happen--but I think it has ( Read more... )

They found it with a Stubbs and a Munnings--"Etreinte", and yes, a watercolor. It's supposed to come up for auction some time this April.

Interesting. I recall reading about it while in Nottingham. Such an interesting find, exceptional how they managed to find three wonderful paintings at once. Have you taken a special interest in any?

Man, if ONLY I'd ever been a significant figure in history. All my lives I've been a poor working stiff. I gotta laugh at all the people who claim to have been Napoleon or something in a past life. There were a lot more fish mongers and blacksmiths and carpenters than there were glorious generals.
