17: Calamity

[Just as the sun begins to set, when it seems like most of the chaos has subsided, there's suddenly a new sound amidst the cacophony the earthquake has brought. Cries; cries that sound explicitly not human, from roars to gurgles, to battle cries in a foreign tongue. Following these cries are the demons who made them, wanting nothing more than to ( Read more... )

[ Allen doesn't get the benefit of ignorance. Elsewhere in Luceti, he has maybe an instant's warning before his eye sparks, and what resembles a transparent gear wheel sparks and whirs into place. The pulse in his brain strengthens, stark and vivid. Hardly thinking at all, Crown Clown's cloak unfurls around him in a white burst as he goes racing towards the feeling.

It doesn't take long to find something. ]

[ Almost hilariously, the first thing Allen will find is a group of Pixie's, flying in a group and setting random things on fire. One notices him though, and she seems quite excited.]

Hii there~! ♥.

Ah-!

[ Jolt, eye, jolt. It's been a while since this curse has had any exercise, and as far as it's concerned, Akuma are demons are Akuma. Allen ignores its whirring, blinking in startlement. But the sword in his hand doesn't lower. ]

Hel-could you please stop that?

[She's buzzing in front of his face now-- she doesn't seem afraid of the sword, or is too naive to care about it.]

And if we do, what do we get?~

[Well, after his chat with Albert, Yuber is actually going to come seek out Naoya. Well, he doesn't know who is doing the summoning, but he sure is curious about it. Hopefully for him, the summoner will come out.]

[And a quick note, since I saw some of the demons can tell creature type, Yuber is currently part human and part demon thanks to the Malnosso. And I'll be dropping you a line on your ooc post about some other things.]

[Naoya recalls talking with Yuber before, and when he seems him out and about, he actually takes the time to stop and teleport a few feet in front of him. Out of range of a physical attack, but still close enough.]

Looking for something?

[And somehow he's not in the least bit surprised to see he knows the person who did this.]

I was curious who is annoying the humans so much. It's rather entertaining to be honest.

[Yuber gets a rather large grin in response: entertainment is half the reason Naoya opened the portal.]

You seem to be in the minority with that opinion. [Not that he's complaining.]

I suppose that means you won't try to attack me then?

[Arumat's keen ears pick up on those strange noises almost immediately. They aren't human, that much is for certain, and he's familiar enough with monsters and other unfriendly creatures to recognize them as a threat.

He's up from digging in the rubble and heading to where he leaned his scythe against the remains of a wall right away, not willing to take any chances.]

[On the way to his scythe, he catches the attention of a straggling Nekomata, who approaches him from behind.]

What's the rush, handsome?

[It's probably a good thing that Arumat has lightning-fast reflexes-- at the sound of that voice, he instinctively whirls around with a snap kick aimed at whatever-it-is that's coming up behind him.]

[...and BAM! hits the Nekomata right in the face. She hisses, and in no short order dives at him with her claws. She's a fast thing, but isn't thinking clearly; what with being kicked in the face and all.]

[After salvaging what she could from her ruined apartment Yuzu set out on foot to look for someplace to stay. Most of the inner town seems to be wrecked and she's forcibly reminded of home. Tokyo hadn't looked quite this bad, but the ruined areas had begun to expand as the week drew on.

Rounding the corner and finding demons was a bit more reminder than she'd wanted.

It's been a year since she's had to fight these things. A year away from the lockdown, in a place much calmer, if not any closer to home. She knew she'd have to go back to that fight eventually - but for them to show up here -

She knows exactly who to blame for this infestation.]

I don't believe him.

[The demons for now, seem to almost be staying away from Yuzu. It might be because there's easier prey to pick on, or it might be the fact that someone is watching her.

Remember those creeper days, Yuzu?

Naoya's making no effort to hide himself, but he does have quite the smile on his face. And yes, he did quite literally appear from nowhere, several feet behind her.]

[Yuzu has her COMP out within a moment of spotting the demons, the stylus poised over the familiar menu screen. The creatures are keeping out of range, though - and it takes her a moment to realize the creepy feeling she's having is from someone else entirely. She whirls around and glares at him. Anger is good for shoving away fear.]

Decided to show your face, huh?

Nice to see you again too, Yuzu.

[Naoya crosses his arms, his amusement clear.]

I don't see why not, even you could figure out what's transpired here. Besides, you should be thanking me.

[Well. Well, well, well. It's not as though Draco's surprised by the sounds. Luceti's been known to produce a bunch of strange things. Still, that doesn't mean he's stupid enough to just ignore the warning signs, so he draws his wand and grips onto it a little tighter than usual, squinting in the dis--

--Merlin's. Saggy. Y-fronts. Draco was fine with fighting monsters but that Loa? Oh yeah, that's just a little too trigger-worthy for him. And I'm not sure if Griff wanted Yuzu to hop in or anything so I need to ask her, yikes.]

[The Loa in question unfortunately for Draco, makes it's way over to him, hissing almost lazily as it does so. It doesn't waste time in casting though, and lets off a quick fire spell.]

[ Considering magic isn't a Loa's strong point, the attack will be blocked. But now it's going back to what it knows, and it sets out a paralyzing glare to hold Draco in his place (as if the Loa wasn't tramuatizing Draco already).

It's fast, and the only evasion for it is to apparate/dodge out of it's gaze.]
