17: Calamity

[Just as the sun begins to set, when it seems like most of the chaos has subsided, there's suddenly a new sound amidst the cacophony the earthquake has brought. Cries; cries that sound explicitly not human, from roars to gurgles, to battle cries in a foreign tongue. Following these cries are the demons who made them, wanting nothing more than to ( Read more... )

[Action] guh I'm so disgustingly late, but I said on d_m that I'd do it! hisdarkmark August 13 2010, 05:33:26 UTC
[Well. Well, well, well. It's not as though Draco's surprised by the sounds. Luceti's been known to produce a bunch of strange things. Still, that doesn't mean he's stupid enough to just ignore the warning signs, so he draws his wand and grips onto it a little tighter than usual, squinting in the dis--

--Merlin's. Saggy. Y-fronts. Draco was fine with fighting monsters but that Loa? Oh yeah, that's just a little too trigger-worthy for him. And I'm not sure if Griff wanted Yuzu to hop in or anything so I need to ask her, yikes.]

[The Loa in question unfortunately for Draco, makes it's way over to him, hissing almost lazily as it does so. It doesn't waste time in casting though, and lets off a quick fire spell.]

[No that wasn't a scream, that was a dignified yell. BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK. Hopefully.]

[ Considering magic isn't a Loa's strong point, the attack will be blocked. But now it's going back to what it knows, and it sets out a paralyzing glare to hold Draco in his place (as if the Loa wasn't tramuatizing Draco already).

It's fast, and the only evasion for it is to apparate/dodge out of it's gaze.]

[Draco's pretty sure he's won and he's quite pleased.

...you know, until that glare roots him in his spot since he wasn't aware of what just happened. Don't mind him struggling, how the hell do you break out of this thing?

He's almost certain somehow this is Voldemort's revenge. It hasn't even occurred to him yet that this really is Naoya's work.]

[Satisfied that it's prey is now trapped, the Loa begins to spit out red lines of pure energy, with the intention of sucking the life from Draco.

But if Draco gets the chance to look to the right of him, he'll find Naoya, who just teleported in like the creeper he is. He's not saying anything yet, just wearing an amused smile, but he will save Draco if stuff gets too bad. Though, it's probably a good idea not to find out what Naoya considers bad.]

[Block block block block block!] Protego! [He's going to hope that the shield's strong enough while he thinks up another plan...of course, he doesn't get that far before he notices there is a Naoya.

Oh. Suddenly things make sense. Huh, so he wasn't kidding. Don't mind him, Draco's going to go around the shield.] Incendio! [Do Loas catch on fire? We'll find out soon.]

[Indeed they do!...except now it's a flaming suicidal Loa. Yup, totally dive bombing you Draco, as it's on fire and dying. And just for kicks, it lets off a quick electricity spell as well, that while not particularly damaging, is rather jarring.

Finish up Draco, Naoya is waiting!]

[Because that's totally so much better! Don't mind him suddenly upping that shield to block the electricity spell, jolting a little when part of it hits but pointing his wand at the Loa] Bombarda! [Take that Loa, exploding might do you some good!]

That was a bit showy. [The Loa explodes, but leaves no trace it ever existed.]

[He watches the Loa disappear with a small sense of satisfaction, but he glares when he hears Naoya speak.]

What the bloody hell was that about?

It's called a Loa. [Really, why are you so upset over this Draco? It was just a demon.]

Telling me its name isn't going to explain yourself, you know.

I'm running an experiment. I wasn't sure how the status of the demons would fare having been summoned into Luceti and not Tokyo.

[But they seem just fine, Naoya's pleased.]

100% operational.

But you had first hand experience battling them, any input? [ Naoya can see Draco's annoyed, but you can't break his happy right now :D.]
