Anthony made his way into Transfiguration, taking a seat next to Jade. Prof. Tamira was certainly easier on the eyes than McGonogall, but she was also distracting. Looking from the chicks to the fishbowls, he took out his wand along with some parchment and a quill, wondering what they were going to transfigure the chicks into.

She smiled and leaned over slightly to ask quietly, "Any idea on what we're doing today?" They had never done anything with water animals before and she was getting a little anxious.

"No clue," he said, picking up one of the chicks and looking it before sneering at Draco.

"Seems like Malfoy thinks we're turning them into goldfish," he told Jade, forgetting about the chick in his hands as Aysel walked by and he leaned forward, staring at the professor.

Jade rolled her eyes as Anthony gaped at the teacher and the fuzzy chick pecked at his hand.

"Turning a bird into a fish? That sounds difficult." She said, opening her transfiguration book to try and find the spell.

Draco slouched grumpily in his seat. He really couldn't be arsed to pay attention in class anymore. But then suddenly the Professor passed by and set a cage of chicks and a fishbowl in front of him and he found himself sitting up straight, smoothing down his hair, and straightening his tie. She was charming and it was nice to have such a young professor. He couldn't help thinking how much she reminded him of his mother (simpering bint that she was, holing up at Grimauld Place to stay out of the public eye. The humilation he had to endure!).

Pansy stared as Draco's usual slouch moved to a demeanor more befitting a pureblood. She eyed the professor suspiciously. She wasn't sure about this new professor who made the boys drool. Particularly if she took any level of Draco's attention away from her.

Hmph.

She reached for the items in front of her. Maybe if she impressed Draco he'd stop staring at their professor.

He thought he saw Pansy looking at him out of the corner of his eye. That made a nice change of pace. At least someone around here still cared about him and didn't mind paying him attention. He offered her a wan smile and got to work on his own items.

Pansy smiled to herself after Draco smiled at her. That was more emotion than she'd seen out of him in months. She busied herself with her classwork, but bumped her leg against his casually under the table.

Walking into the classroom, she stopped short as she took in the classroom. Ok... So, she was one of those teachers. Feeling Ron bump into her, she looked back at him only to roll her eyes as his glazed over appearance. Oh for the love of... If it wasn't Fleur, it just had to be someone else. Huffing, she walked past Ron, making sure to tread on his foot before sitting at what she figured used to be their usual tables.

Ron simpered stupidly at the professor. She was definitely easier on the eyes than that old bat, McGonagall!

"Ow!" he said when Hermione's heel jammed into his foot. He blinked and sat down next to her, still smiling at the professor. "What was that for?" he tried to hiss, but it came out more like a half-forgotten thought.

She rolled her eyes as she took her book out and placed it soundly on the desk.

"That was for letting your hormones overrid your brain," she hissed, "again. If you do not pick your jaw up off the table, one of those chicks will take up nest in that big mouth of yours. Which would be quite the pity as they most likely would drown in all the drool you're producing."

He reluctantly closed his mouth and shot an apologetic look at Hermione.

"Sorry," he muttered, gulping and not looking at the professor anymore. "'m gonna have a bruise," he said with a small smile. "Not that I didn't deserve it," he hastily added.

Aysel turned around as the sniping shifted again and frowned, "That's enough. Out of all of you. Try concentrating on what you're doing, since none of you has yet managed a goldfish that's actually orange, white or black. Draco, yours is closest, but there's still a fuzzy spot on one of its fins and it seems to be drowning. So concentrate." She glared at each of them in turn and then shook her head at one of the other boys staring at her and gestured, "Alibida." All attraction faded from the room, "And since you seem distracted, that should help. Now focus. I want each of you to manage a goldfish that is actually swimming, not drowning in the water before the end of the class. Those of you who haven't found it, the spell is on page three hundred and twenty-four. You are seventh years, you will be taking your N.E.W.T.s at the end of the year. You should be able to handle air-breathers into water-breathers long before then ( ... )

She glared back slightly at Professor Tamira before huffing out a sigh. Calm. Calm. She was a professor after all. Although she greatly disliked that now she had a spell on her and Ron did not seem as charming or cute as he used to. Although at least they knew exactly what to do now, too bad Draco had guessed right. Taking one of the chicks out of her cage for the first time, she glanced at the spell in her book, making sure to read all the information on the spell before concentrating on her fish. Waving her wand, she changed the chick into a beautiful black goldfish. Putting it in the water before it could suffer from the lack of water, she smiled triumphantly as she watched the goldfish swim around happily, its mouth opening and closing in the usual fishy fashion.
