I always felt that Claudia and Archie were neither particularly good or bad parents, but very realistic ones - at least based on my experiences growing up and what I saw of my classmates' relations with their parents (which of course might be a bit outdated). "Yes, of course we love you, but we both have jobs and those have to come first." In Archie's case with added: "It's a girl and not actually my own blood, so how close is appropriate ( ... )

1. Since I was one of the ones who participated in the "very polite discussion," my views are probably sufficiently clear by now. Claudia isn't a good mother, but she's not a terrible one either. She's average, or maybe a little below average, but not unforgivably so ( ... )

Okay, I will out myself as the beta reader who didn't like the 'my mother is a cat' twist. I am still willing to wait it out and see you do something amazing with it later on though. I have faith in you. :)

Mostly, I just want to congratulate you on completing this. I don't think I even know how much work you put into this series, but the small part of your efforts I saw was pretty amazing.

I had a lot of fun working with you and tealterror0 on this, especially the back and forth discussions about plot that gave us insights into your process and how much you care about this book and about writing, not just as a product, but as a craft.

Thanks for your trust and your dedication.

Well, since I'm the other beta reader and I described above how I have no problem with the twist, I kind of outed you myself, lol.

I second everything else swissmarg says in this post. Writing over 250,000 words during your free time for no money, in like a year and a half, is frankly an insane feat. Fantastic job. :D
