The Top Ten Cinematic Releases of 2006

May 07, 2007 11:59

I'm not really sure how to feel about this list. All the films are great, and there are a number of equally great films that didn't make it (see HONORABLE MENTION), but when all is said and done 2006 promised a better year than what it actually was. on the whole, my top 10 of 2006 is actually pretty predictable, with old top 10 staples like Gondry ( Read more... )

oh, oh. i agree. i loved stranger than fiction, because it touched upon literary theory. if i ever teach lit in DLSU (haha!), i'd definitely make my students watch this. and should you ever come up with a list of intelligent feel-good movies, i think this should definitely be in there. :)
little miss sunshine, too.

i know! a lot of people say "i don't understand why it's so hard for her to just let him live," but they don't understand how hard it is to fight the compulsion to keep your character going down his dramatic track. that and adaptation would make a perfect lit theory combination, methinks :)

Haha so I'll never be a film person, even though I vowed in every New Year's Resolution since college that I would attempt to be.

Seriously, I didn't think I'd like Casino Royale...but you're right...it's wow :)

And Miami Vice disappointed me a lot even though I didn't expect much from it to begin with.

true dat, true dat. i never thought colin could be so unattractive :)

and it's never too late to be a film person! and even if you're not one, you should always try to see whatever's good out there. hopefully this list will help, that's what it's for :)

wala nang part 2 :(

sayang maganda pa naman yung naplano namin for part 2 -- Jen arrives in the future, right? but apparently her parents are happy because they work for the greatest dictator of the planet: ANNYS!!! so she fights and meets the old tonton and he sends her back in time to battle Annys along with the Super Noypi kids. and in the end-- ANNYS KILLS HER.

tapos may part 3. oh well.

yun lang. wehehehe.

i have seen all james bond movie since my father is a fan of it and i must say that probably the best bond ever. i noticed that his bond character is the bloodiest bond. i mean, in every scene you can see him covered in wounds and blood and everything and that set him apart from all the other bond who always have to look good.

and i also agree that michael gondry, without charlie kaufmann, will never have another movie as beautiful as eternal sunshine.
