today brian came over and we sprawled on my bed and talked for a long time. i hadn't seen him in nearly two weeks and last night i cried in the shower about it. it's the strangest situation and i never know quite what to do about it when i miss him that much. so i took a hot shower and washed my hair twice. said into my wet palms he's been my ( Read more... )

i've been out of college for 3+ years (I THINK. I SERIOUSLY CAN'T REMEMBER SOMETIMES.) AND people still make ENGLISH MAJOR jokes when i tell them what sorta degree i have. one time my DOCTOR goes...WELL SOMEBODY HAS TO MAJOR IN IT, I GUESS. IT NEVER ENDS. seriously. i don't know what that's about. and esp. when people'll look at me and then over to loran and ask him what his degree is in and then he goes MINE IS IN ENGLISH TOO. and then the person's head EXPLODES and we have to clean it up.

MENTAL IMAGE ALERT // LORAN AND I HAVE TO CLEAN UP THE HEAD EXPLOSION. WE IMMEDIATELY GO TO WORK. IN NAVY BLUE JUMPSUITS AND THAT BIG RING OF KEYS JINGLEJANGLIN AND LORAN'LL BE WHISTLIN'.

but really. I KNOW.

I am ALWAYS freaking about what I am going to do after college and about jobs and things. You are exactly right. I dont need to land my forever-job, or retire in 10 years, and it is VERY exciting to be able to tell people that I just graduated from college...thank you for helping me to not freak out so much anymore ;)

lydia and i always talk about how we're never worried about our present lives or our future lives because everything works itself out to how it's supposed to be. and we always talk about how we'll never have true careers. i just want paint on my brush and a pencil in my hand and cats at my feet.

hahahaha, oh this made me laugh so much. i HATE when people try to give you stupid life advice by being cynical and talking to you like you haven't already thought about EVERYTHING a hundred million times.
