Yea, I dealt blackjack for a while, was kind of interesting.
Of course for odds, craps is your best bet, followed by blackjack. But those are low on the brain-usage scale so kind of boring.
My family is mostly big on Canasta. Pinochle was ok but I didn't always care for the betting part. I don't have the foresight for chess- I can logically think ahead, but it's a strain when you don't know what the other person is going to do and you have to consider so many possibilities.
Or maybe I just don't like it because the only people I've played were so much better than me, so I gave up early before I could get into it.
Do you like Othello/Reversi? My fiance is an INTP and that's his big game. Mine is Boggle. I love some Boggle, but people will rarely agree to play me. When they do they gang up pooling their 3 scores against mine to try balancing it out.
Hmh. I have never played Othello/Reversi, at least as far as I know. It might go with a different name here.
I like most games, but I usually get the "I have to master this and then I don't care for it anymore"-thing with everything. And if I don't seem to improve in it, I get bored to losing, easily. >.>
You might want to try it then. I'm pretty sure they have it on Yahoo games- the black and white circles you place on the grid and flip, trying to cover the area with your color. It feels like it's a bit different type of strategy than card games and such.
probably my absolute favourite game is called "set" - http://www.setgame.com/ it's a game of visual perception. typically, men play it better than women. that said, i'm one of the fastest people i know to play. at this rate, i ref games between friends and/or coworkers, and will find sets for them if they are stuck and want to move the game along.
I don't play games much except boring ones to relax before bed, like sudoku and solitaire. I like the occasional puzzle game like the above. On the rare occasions I play board games, I'm partial to Settlers of Catan; I've enjoyed History of the World and Iron Dragon. I'd probably get really into German-style games if I had more time for gaming.
I Love games! I play them...all of them and I love them all! Currently, my most active game is life. Seriously, I consider my life like I consider a game.

i also like mancala, which is probably one of the oldest games ever.
you can play it online too - http://www.rocketsnail.com/mancala/game.htm
it requires a lot of strategy, and i think it's pretty fun.
i used to play cribbage and cards about 3 years ago.
i haven't in a very long time. no-one to play with.
i'm interested in learning chess and go.

I do think the speed factor makes it more interesting than playing it online, I've found.

I tend to like computer games like civilization where you must master resources and engage in long-term planning and management...
