Yeah, this is exactly what went through her head in that moment. There is also no way Ty Lee will stay with the Kyoshi Warriors forever. Probably for a little while, though.

Thirding this, and also would like to add that her joining the Kyoshi Warriors, who wear a uniform and facepaint and all look very similar, seemed more than a little odd to me considering what she confessed to be trying to get away from ("being part of a matched set") during The Beach.

This is a lovely short. It really puts her position in perspective, and I'm happy to see the inclusion of auras and that she was choosing what she believed to be the lesser of two bad outcomes. Thanks for writing and sharing this! ♥

Thank you! :) A couple of people on deviantART and FF.net commented about the inclusion of auras too. I haven't read a lot of Ty Lee centric fics, but is her ability to see auras usually forgotten or something? Or is it just a nice touch that people appreciate? I'm a little confused on that. ^_~

Well, for me personally, I've never seen it pop up in fic before. I haven't read every Ty Lee fic out there, of course - not even close - but in the ones I have read, I've never seen it mentioned, so I'd say it's a little bit of both!

None of them? Weird. Although, now that I think of it, I can't really remember it coming up in most of the fics I've read either--and usually the stories it comes up in aren't from Ty Lee's perspective either. Huh. I can't believe I never noticed that before.
