Wow. Loved this! It gave so much dimension to the professors that I do not give enough time and thought to. I really liked your explanation for Madam Pince. Great job!

This was just amazing. I really enjoyed how you humanized the staff - there is darkness but it speaks true and they all responded in their own ways.

I love this so much. And as the prompter I don't think it moves away from the prompt at all. This is what I hoped for in the dark corners of my little angst-loving heart.

“Actually, Professor, I killed three.” <---This was the sucker punch line for me. Filius is so resigned and pragmatic in this. It's not the way I usually think about him, in as much as I think about him at all, but it's a brilliant counter-point to the black-and-white morality of some of the other staff.

Also, Madame Pince's backstory and motivations are inspired. knows he would never trust her outside its walls Hogwarts, school for magic and political prison! Oh the wizarding world and it's odd ideas about what should properly go into a school. Still, she was very chilling and a intriguing turn on the character ( ... )

What a powerful story! I love the structure of this, and all the varying POVs you give us. Canon is so focused on Harry's pain and struggle, but this shows that it's no easier for the teachers.
