It's an almost pleasant noise, actually, when Gaius snaps back into existence. It sounds a little like a PINpoint. A wind chime. A clock his parents once owned.

There's a Cylon here waiting for him, but it isn't the one Gaius probably wanted/hoped for/expected-- though this one is, ironically, more tangible. And has the same disdain in its eyes, in spades.
"Welcome back to the real world." Oh, Leoben knew there was some reason he needed to be back here, and apparently this is it. He resists the urge to nudge Gaius with the toe of one boot. "Mr. Vice-President, I believe?"

He tries to meet Leoben's eyes, but he's hardly the defiant type, and soon enough he's looking at the ground again. His voice is still raspy from all the screaming. "What do you want from me?"

"Who says I want anything from you?" He jams his hands in his pockets and grins cheerfully. "Or are you just in the mood to play martyr today?"

"You're here, aren't you? You've been here." He gets to his feet, weaving a little as he finds his balance. "Unless you're expecting me to believe that the Cylons have made it a policy to drop in on members of Colonial government and say hello."
He's speaking like he's inside an office instead of at a field after recently going through a saw. He's trying to be normal, he really is.
