It's an almost pleasant noise, actually, when Gaius snaps back into existence. It sounds a little like a PINpoint. A wind chime. A clock his parents once owned.
Gaius has doubled over into a ball sometime during the transition. He's out of the grey jumpsuit and back in his usual clothes (white collar shirt, pinstripe pants), clean of all the blood and sweat. For a while, he just stares down at the ground, at the dirt, at his knees.
There's a feeling he has, deep in the pit of his stomach. He can't explain it. Familiarity, maybe. Or something like a train. Rushing.
He doesn't dare look up.
