I don't have a damn clue what they were trying to accomplish with the romance subplot since it was handled so poorly. I know they thought they only had 12 episodes to do the whole series, but I know they're better storytellers than that. Only thing I can think of is they meant to piss people off, but... *why?*

It can only get better from here now that they can catch their breaths and have another season to do whatever. Let's get back to the compelling characters driving the plot. Asami's subplot and Tenzin/Lin were a hell of a lot more compelling than anything else going on for most of the season.

Yeah, why do they want to piss us off in the first place? I could see maybe they were going for something less perfect and more realistic with Asami and Mako falling out, but why even bring good ole Brolin into the picture then cut him out so sharply? Now that's unrealistic. I liked him, too.

I don't know, I don't have the original series to compare with, but it seems like they could have done so much better. And all of that exposition with Tarrlock, then the really sad but potentially moving possibility they had with Amon? Could have been delivered so much better. So close, but nope.

They better bump up the Lin/Tenzin and Asami parts in season 2, Ryan and I are both impatiently awaiting that. And the Fire nation army scotty too hotties. Okay, I am awaiting that.
