I find that I'm much better at committing myself to short-term projects (like school) and focusing on one thing at a time, rather than try to set out a string of goals (school,job,marriage,family,retirement). I don't know - I guess you have to have some idea of what you want to do long-term, but I think we get ourselves wrapped up too much in the details of how we want our autobiography to play out precisely.
